It isn’t every day I am asked to make a table thirteen feet long and four wide (4m x 1.2m ), in beautiful Irish oak, and then to spray it black. The client mentioned that he was at one time a civil engineer who built bridges, among other things, and thus the design of the table was obvious. The theme of the house was black and white and so the colour was never in question.
