I bought two wind blown yew trees from the National Trust at Springhill in Moneymore. They were exceptionally large, straight and clean which can be seen here as one length is being loaded onto my trailer.

As you will see from this photo I ended up with some very promising lengths of yew wood.

One of the yew logs lies here on the sawmill. Having been squared up with my chainsaw mill it will now be cut through several times with the smaller capacity band mill.
